Romy left India for the UK 25 yrs ago. Completely self-taught, she opened her restaurant, Romy’s Kitchen, in 2013, becoming the first female Indian chef-owner in the UK. Like her food, Romy is not afraid to break the mould. She is so much more than just a chef; using her title in the industry as a platform to start conversations and provoke change - whether around charities she supports, the state of women in hospitality, or spreading the word on Indian cuisine. In 2016 she was appointed a MBE for her contributions to the industry.
